Services
The nearest large Hospital is in Canterbury but for serious injuries, the
closest Accident and Emergency Hospitals are Margate or Ashford.
Opposite the Whitstable Harbour is the local Health Centre where minor
injuries can be attended to during normal hours.
There are pay phones at Tankerton Circus and The Castle Gates.
Most supplies can be obtained from Tankerton where there is a Tesco store.
Out and About
The Marine Hotel is a very comfortable watering hole being only a few
minutes walk to the right.
To the left also only a minute or so away are the tea gardens, if they are
shut walk through the gardens and down the slope to The Hotel Continental,
Water Front Bar and other cafes etc. Continue in the same general direction
and not far is the Harbour with Wet fish sales, Restaurants and Boat trips.
Beyond the Harbour along Sea Wall past Whitstable Marine Shop lies old
Whitstable with its quaint fishermans cottages and beautiful sea views.
Alternatively cross the road on the Zebra crossing by the Marine Shop and
along Harbour Street you will come across the main shopping area with many
eating establishments, pubs, cafes and the like. Further down the High
Street is The Tourist Information Centre who I`m sure will help with any
further inquiries.
